NETPRO’S Biomass Gasification based Power plants- Salient Features
>> Producer Gas
Composition (by Vol.):
CO: 20 (+-) 2%, H2: 20 (+-) 2%, CH4: 3 (+-) 1%, CO2: 12 (+-) 2%, N2: Balance.
>> Safety features:
> Possibility of gas leaking into ambient from system elements practically ruled out as
gasifier system is under suction.
> To avoid any air ingress into system, proper leakage test
for flange joints are
prescribed & strictly followed.
> An online oxygen sensor provided in the system to detect
and indicate any air leakage.
> Water seals at several locations provided to prevent any
gas leakage or air ingress
into the system.
>> The environmental benefits are:
> Reduction of fossil fuel use.
> Reduction of emissions of other gases.
> Greenhouse Gas Reduction.
> Natural resource conservation and biodiversity conservation through encouragement
of biomass economy.
>> Energy Supplied by Biomass Power Plant would provide following collateral benefits:
> Creation of jobs in power plant / energy plantation cultivation / harvesting and fuel preparation.
> Mitigate CO2 emissions / year through eliminating electricity purchase from carbon intensive grid.
> Avoidance of power outages due to Grid power cuts.
> Up to 80% depreciation benefit under IT act.
>> Effluents
> Effluent Treatment:
Effluent treatment plant for circulating gas cooling & cleaning raw
water consists of 2 flocculent tanks, an activated carbon column & one presurrised
sand bed filter.
> Chemicals: (1) Non-ferric alum and (2) Poly electrolyte are dissolved separately in
water and added into the flocculation tank.
> Residue Disposal: to be disposed off to farmers as a fertilizer.
> Residue Disposal: Charcoal as a by product has activated carbon content and it has a
very good market value.
